Fr. Joe’s note on the realty of the Mercy Centre in Bangkok: ”Our Slum is a savage place drenched in Mercy & every child we meet in the slum, in abandoned shacks, sifting through trash for something to sell/ something to eat, in alley ways and along the railway tracks, police stations, we invite to our slum shack kindergartens so that they can ring the bells that can still be rung & beat on broken drums bringing light & through cracks in the walls of darkness of ignorance.”
